MISS CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH FLORIDA 2024

Khameela is the daughter of Lorenzo Mitchell and the late Maria Layco-Mitchell. She is sixteen years old and a Junior at Choctawhatchee High School. Currently she is a dual enrollment student and takes classes at Northwest Florida State College. Khameela was born and raised in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Her favorite part of living in Fort Walton Beach is how close she is to the beach. She loves visiting the beach all year round. Ever since she was little, she has always had a love for dance. Khameela hopes to continue to share her passion and knowledge of dance. Recently she’s been teaching dance classes at Amplified Studio 850. She has been dancing for 8 years and competitively for 7. She is a second year Co. Captain for the Indianettes dance team at Choctaw. This past year Khameela helped her team win a State Championship and 11th at nationals in Game Day. At her end of year dance banquet, she was awarded the Highest GPA award, MVP, Performer of the Year, and Best All Around. Besides being on the dance team at Choctaw, there’s other ways Khameela likes to get involved within her school and community. She is a part of multiple clubs and was crowned Miss Choctawhatchee in February. She also received Best Interview and Top Talent. Khameela has plans to represent her title for the City of Fort Walton Beach and looks forward to interacting with local business owners, elected officials, and the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Kyleigh is nine years old and in the 4th grade at Edwins Elementary school. She is the daughter of Heather and Peter Folta of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She enjoys attending Village Baptist Church with some of her close friends. She has a deep passion for the water and loves to swim whether it be the beach, a pool, or a joyride with friends on a boat. Kyleigh is set to begin volunteering with PAWS, where she would like to give the dogs a little love and attention. Kyleigh loves Wednesday Addams and spooky things; her favorite holiday is Halloween. She is excited to create memories with her WCP sister queens and represent the City of Fort Walton Beach!
