Emerson is eighteen years old and a graduate of Jay High School. As a citizen of Santa Rosa County for her entire life, she has grown a true love for it. Throughout high school, Emerson was involved in nearly everything. She was the Varsity Cheerleading Co-Captain, Number One on the Tennis team, Senior class Vice-President, Student Government Association District One Secretary (2021) and Parliamentarian (2022), and Future Farmers of America President (chapter and district). She competed in numerous competitions in the FFA, with the Agriscience Fair as her most successful. Her project titled “The Dirt on Florida Soils” won the state level competition, later placing in the top fifteen in the nation. She is now attending Tallahassee Community College with plans of transferring to Florida State University next fall to pursue a degree in marketing and public relations.
Along with Emerson’s great love for Santa Rosa County, comes her love for helping others. Her platform is “Project: Be the Light.” This is a project that she co-founded in her church in 2015. The project benefits local children during the Christmas season by providing them with gifts, donated by community members. She is passionate about this project because she feels that children should get to experience the joy of having a present under the tree on Christmas morning, regardless of what their home life may be. After all, Christmas time is the “season of giving,” and she has always been taught to “give more than you receive.” When the project began, only about forty-five gifts were collected, but this past year over one-hundred-twenty gifts were collected. She hopes to grow this project even more throughout her reign, ultimately benefiting more children. She looks forward to the many events throughout her reign and cannot wait to represent Santa Rosa County with pride. Her sponsors are Beachside Bubble Waffle Co. (Navarre, FL) and The Glam House (Jay, FL).
Aubrey is the 13-year-old daughter to Jennifer and Joseph, and the little sister to Nazhoni, Star, and Hannah. Aubrey lives in sunny Gulf Breeze, Florida and attends 8th grade at Gulf Breeze middle school. It was here in her hometown where she realized her passion for helping foster youth. When Aubrey’s not focusing on her foundation, she is walking in fashion shows, modeling, and dancing. Her fashion shows have taken her all over the United States as well as Paris. Aubrey’s love for traveling was sparked after Paris and she hopes to continue her traveling and make a trip to Ireland to learn more about her ancestry.
Aubrey created her foundation, Aubrey’s Traveling Totes when she found out that most foster kids are given only a trash bag to carry their belongings. Aubrey wanted to help, and with the help of the community and businesses she has been able to donate 800 totes to the Gulf Coast Kids House over the last few years, as well as donate necessities like deodorant, and toothpaste. She has worked with companies like Lululemon who have kindly donated their own tote bags to her cause. Aubrey hopes to donate 1000 by the end of this year, and to continue to support the local foster youth in any way she can. This year she also hopes to do smaller outreaches throughout the year, like putting together birthday cake kits for the foster kids and making ornaments for the old folk’s homes.
Caroline is 12 years old and is a 7th grader at Gulf Breeze Middle School. Caroline has been playing tennis since she was four years. She enjoys playing Volleyball with GBSA and Panhandle Elite. Caroline loves learning languages. She learned to speak Spanish when she attended an International American Academy in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. For the past three years, Caroline has been learning French and recently spent the summer in Paris attending a French language camp.
Caroline has always had a passion for the foster care community. She began accompanying her mom when she volunteered in the Children’s Emergency Shelter in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and has always felt a connection to the Foster Care community. Her youngest sister is adopted, so as a family Caroline understands the struggles that can accompany a child who is removed from their home in the middle of the night to a baby who was placed for adoption and entered a loving home from birth and every situation in between. Caroline was excited to join the Junior Optimist International (JOI) Club at her elementary school mainly for their involvement in the local Foster Care community. She has spent weekends at the Foster Family Annual Christmas Breakfast in Fort Walton Beach helping kids shop for Christmas gifts for their foster families in addition to spending months prior collecting donations for the event. Caroline has continued her efforts toward helping foster families by working directly with the Northwest Florida Guardian Ad Litem Organization to raise money for various foster family needs.
More recently, Caroline has worked with the Language Arts department at her middle school to raise money for the Water for South Sudan project. After reading “A Long Walk to Water by Salva Dut and learning of the hardships for those living in South Sudan she knew she needed to help. Salva is using the money raised by her school to provide clean, safe water for the communities in South Sudan.
